And since my wife doesn't eat vegetables anyway, if shit dies, no one gets upset about it. The fan idea pretty unique. Hadn't heard of that. |

That's why tree's blow over so easy here. Their roots don't get, well, rooted enough as the water never goes deep. Don't forget to change your nute %ages when you go to flower/fruit. Lizard man is your friend. Watch for bunnies. |

This is going to sound like a dumb as hell question for a gardening thread but figured I'd get a honest answer at least. Google hasn't lead me to much of an answer so here it goes. I recently bought a house with no sprinkler system and will be adding one soon enough. Any need to water dormant grass even occasionally in the winter (if you'd even call it that in TX this year)?

Lizard bud is your friend. Rabbits need to ****ing die. If there are raccoons around trap them and dead them. Neighborhood cats dig in gardens a lot. Dead them if you want too. I won't tell anybody. Just keep them bitches out. Bugs are a big problem when the plants put on fruit here. Quote:

This man speaks the truth about letting it root. If you water that bitch all the time you will never keep up when it reaches peak water use at reproduction. |

Isn't that why corn does well out there? Seems like corn needs the wind to help with strong stem development. And ear of corn is pretty heavy.

30 inches? With all the snow? Damn. My ex inlaws had a huge farm in Iowa. Like 2K acres. Always stressed. |

We get 16 in of precip a year. I believe most of Iowa is in the 40 range. Stress always damages yield. But you are spot on. About needing it to root

Thanks. Figured I was ok until it comes out of dormancy but good to confirm. Its a kinda shitty lawn because of tons of old shade trees and grass hasn't been replanted in really forever.
Figure I'm likely to hit this group up for some more questions. Want some fresh basil will prob be my first step if my shade trees allow it. |
