If my wife was picking out stuff from my music to post here, she would definitely post my Rod Stewart stuff. I have most of his albums up until he turned into a lounge act. A lot of his 80's stuff wasn't very good but there were some good songs thrown in there. A lot of his 70's stuff was really good and, surprisingly, so was a lot of his 90's stuff..

As for mine, I can't help it - I like this stupid damn song... There's enough 80's cheese in here (I already passed on 'Africa') that I figured I'd put in some variety. I don't know if it violates the spirit of the OP (which seems to suggest heartstrings and what not), but I'm definitely ashamed of liking this song.

If it has to be emotionally sappy, I'll nominate these:
or (the Jimmy Eat World one genuinely caught me off guard the first time I heard it. I'm mostly a hard-hearted sumbitch but I think I recall the room getting dusty for this one...) And if I'm required to stick with the older stuff:

This song is awesome. I could imagine you in your best high pitched voice singing along as you cruise to work.

Were my LFer and I in the outfield doing the shoulder wipe and that one-legged twist thing in between innings? Yes, yes we were. Like I said, it's a damn siren song...
