I finally get to watch a KU basketball game this season as the others were not available to me due to that stupid Time Warner deal ( screw you, Zenger!). I had been able to watch KU hoops games but not the early football games since that deal was signed in 2013. Apparently, WIBW in Topeka was grandfathered in on that deal since they were still under contract. But that contract was up this year and now I have no way to see them. This covers 6 games every year (2 exhibition and 4 early season games). The games that remain that won't be viewable are Loyola (Md) on Dec. 1, Holy Cross on Dec. 9, and Montana on Dec. 19. This deal really sucks. You screwed your fans in Kansas, you morons.

Haven't paid a lick of attention to KU this year because of Zenger. Cannot believe that POS still has a job for what he's done.
Oh, there's a game! Line opened -8.5 and dropped to -5.0. Looking at their roster, they don't seem to have much this year outside Valentine. I'd be surprised if we didn't cover. |

I know it's hard to believe guys, but most KU fans don't live in the Kansas City area. That is a good thing, means you are a power team and national brand. It was the best deal available at the time, I can't fault him as much as some even though it is annoying having to buy Time Warner. But there are simple ways around it to watch the game, all you need is Google Chrome and Zenmate. Both free. And you can watch whatever KU game you want, for free, on your computer.

For me, I'm still in a World Series hangover. Hard to get excited after that. I'm as big a Jayhawk fan as there is but the lack of recruits for next year and the whole Diallo situation just has me feeling a little pessimistic this year. I know we got a good team, which is why I don't understand my lack of excitement. Maybe a win tonight will get me back into the spirit.

They have a dynamic backcourt in Valentine and Eron Harris (who transferred from West Virginia). Outside of those two, I do no not know much about their roster. But, they are an Izzo coached team, so they will be very tough, physically and mentally. The Spartans will be there in March, so a W will look good on a resume. It's a great early season test. Valentine had a solid game against KU last year, and Harris has torched KU before.

Although there is a law of unintended consequences - as more exclusive content gets locked down by shitty cable providers attempting to monopolize coverage, there are more people figuring out how to get content online, further reducing the need for cable in general.

Eron Harris hit five threes and had 28 points in the game where Wiggins went off for 38. WVU ended up barely holding on to that one.

I'd like to see Wilie's data on our fan base. I suspect he's making shit up again. As a proxy for fans, KU has 338,311 alumni and half of them reside in Kansas (169,635). This does not include all of us who reside just across the state line who are also blacked out. We probably comprise 98% of all ticket sales and easily 90%+ of all donations. Yet Sirhan effed us.
How many casual "fans" sitting in Arizona or Maryland really tune into KU Friday night? Maybe 1,000? They can watch national broadcasts whenever they want to. This issue isn't going away. He needs to be held accountable for what he did to his best customers, and to the football program. |
