I actually read up on it.
"People do realize that RBI 15 is not meant to stack up against The Show or is intended to be the XBoxONEs pinnacle baseball game. Its just a revamp of a classic game with a few extra features thrown in." That makes sense to have the pitcher and batter slide into position rather than realistic animations. Just like it was on NES. However, nobody is hurting for a change in baseball videogames, so I dont see the point. Now if someone made a new hockey game like this, that played identical as NHL '94 just with great graphics, I would cream my pants.

Downloaded Trine: Enchanted Edition for our WiiU. Having a lot of fun with it currently with my son and I. It's the first game that he's played that's actually somewhat challenging and doesn't just sort of allow you to auto-advance (Skylanders). At first he was really frustrated and hating the game as we were getting our butts kicked constantly, but he's starting to get into rising to the challenges presented by the game now and enjoying the accomplishment from actually figuring out a puzzle or defeating a tough boss.

Any one have any opinions on which Pokemon DS game would be the best starting point for an 8 year old who's just getting into Pokemon cards? Keep in mind she only has a regular DS...not a 3DS.

If your kid is anything like mine, it won't much matter because they will end up owning them ALL. I think, more seriously, that the kids started with White or Black. I seem to remember they had one, and then they relatively quickly got the other. That doesn't mean it is a good intro -- it's just what they asked for. It may have been that those were the first Pokemon games released on DS for all I know.
