Tigers get Price. Royals get Jack Shit.

Tigers tighten hold on division with a blockbuster trade.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/tigers-...204522907.html

In other baseball news..

Royals get Jack Shit-hope for the best. Decide 2nd or 3rd for the next ten years is not too bad-after all they are still making a profit.

So who is jumping off the Royals bandwagon now?

Oh but wait...

19 Oakland Athletics $91,387,944

So less payroll, more wins, much better players and set up with a talented team for several years to come. What could it be-that makes the Royals so much different??

Don't know if this was mentioned in here, but the Tigers now have the past 3 CY Young winners in their rotation: Verlander, Price, and Scherzer. Unbelievable.

No, you're the first to mention it.

BTW, did you know that the Tigers now have the past 3 CY Young winners in their rotation?

Dude you have to realize, trading for Shields was GMDM's "all in" move and he more or less put himself on the line to get to the playoffs in 2 years or he was a failure.
Shields didn't fail here though. Our other pitchers got better because of him. Our bats and their lack of leadership failed.

Holy shit. Verlander has a 4.79 ERA. Smyly who they traded away was actually their 2nd best pitcher.

I've been way too busy all day to even keep up with half of this stuff. Have there actually been any legit reports that the Royals rejected a trade for Cespedes, or is this all sports radio blather?

I don't understand why the A's would want Shields over Lester, and I love Shields. But Lester is a great pitcher, started game 1 of the WS last year, dominated in the playoffs. Of course I think it's strange they dumped their #3 hitter in the first place, so who knows.

Passen said it on sports radio in Kansas City but no where else. Beane dumped Cespedes because he knows they couldn't pay him and they are all in this year.

JUST ****ING SHOOT ME.
Why would they take Shields and a prospect over Lester? Lester is pitching circles around Shields this year and they're more interested in winning now so unless we traded our top prospect, why would they be interested?
