To say an appliance will change your life may be a bit much.

I've had several girlfriends that would disagree.

I have a ~60 year old osterizer that works pretty well and is paid for. Course, the lights dim and you can smell the ozone when it runs. No payments is nice though.

If it gets people eating healthier food...who cares how many installments it takes? I've got a Blendtec and it's great.

Weird spammy OP though.

Eating healthier? How so? I bet many people like making smoothies that aren't necessarily good for you and making things on top of the other food they already eat. Buying a cooking device won't make you eat "healthier." I've always loved that claim from product companies.

Anyway, I think it's cool. I'd be willing to pay maybe $100 for blender but no where near $400. I do like to cook though.

Someone who uses it, can you explain how it helps you or why you love it?

Because at the moment of buying it they got a momentary thrill while daydreaming that a $400 blender would change their lives?

Shit - just ****ed up my resolution to stop being an asshole on the internet

For me, it's the texture of the smoothies I make every morning. Nothing I've used even comes close (never used Blendtec, but hear good things).

One of my regular smoothies is fresh pineapple, green grapes (with seeds), and baby spinach, along with a little ice. Until the Vitamix, my green smoothie always had a little chew to it, mostly from the seeds and the spinach. No matter how long I blended, it just wouldn't blend down any further. The Vitamix can totally break down the foods into a super smooth smoothie. It's also the first blender I owned that could effectively destroy blackberry seeds to my satisfaction.

And if you're into blended soups, the friction generated in the Vitamix can cook it while it blends.

That soup would be good for when someone jacks your jaw! Would be better than strained Campbell's.
