Chiefs (-6.5)

When I saw the spread last night on the ESPN ticker I admit: It seemed very low. We were (-8.5) last week and dominated the game. Houston starting a rookie QB on the road?

I was guessing (-9.0) but those with the actual money always know more than individuals do. Still I think you'd be nuts not to lay -6.5 today on us. I'd guess 26-13.

I haven't watched the Texans much this season. It sure seems like the removal of Matt is actually a positive to the team overall. Their D is good our O is just above shit. Our D is good but, if they can run the ball as in years past they should be able to compete as long as they don't turn it over. I still think we win but I see where this COULD be a tough game.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Although that one analytical site I posted on has it as a toss up too.
Vegas always knows where to start to get the action on both sides which is what their goal is.

And you know what the difference is between the Texans and Chiefs?

Quarterbacks who throw interceptions versus quarterbacks who don't throw interceptions.

If the Texans don't turn the ball over, this is going to be a much closer game than many around here think.

If they're so talented how did they just get ripped at home by the Rams? I'm guilty of over-rating Houston probably worse than anyone, picking them to lose the Super Bowl to Seattle. I can't believe they're 2-4 but you are what your record says you are. And they honestly could be 0-6 given that they pulled out a miracle road win Week 1 at SD and an OT game the next week vs. Tennessee they could've easily lost.

They're a mess with a rookie QB. At Arrowhead. -6.5?

I'll give Case Keenum credit for one thing:

I doubt he'll be dumb enough to put his team in a 3rd and 48 situation today.

I wonder if Vegas has O/U on Keenum turnovers. I'd have to think the line would be 2 and I'd bet he goes over.

Vegas wants action on both sides. At that number, I'd imagine they are getting quite a bit.

I guess that's where I'm confused - does the general public think Houston is a good value at that line? If so, that's really surprising to me.

Texans have a good defense. We cant score. We let up a high YPC. The Texans have Arian Foster. They have been losing games because they throw a pick six in every single game. I dont care how bad you are but no team is going to keep turning the ball over at that rate and continue to have their bad luck. I would be more comfortable to say it would be close if Schaub was actually playing despite his horrible season. Keenum is the wild card..just difficult to see how they can get even worse QB play

-6.5 seems like a fair line to me. The Texans have been a very good team this year with the exception of one player, and that guy happens to not be playing today. With a new QB the Texans will probably run a conservative offense with lots of running plays and screens. This could end up being a smart game plan against our D as it could neutralize our biggest strength, the pass rush. Also I have no confidence at all that Smith will be able to score against a very good Texans defense.
