When you're indecisive/don't make quick decisions/get the ball out quickly, the OL is going to look bad.

Especially to people that don't know WTF they are watching, which is a good chunk of this board.
So you're saying that Alex is holding on to the ball too long?

You've been saying for years about how people on this board overrate the talent on this team.

I'll mention it again.

Did you see the spotlight on Cutler on SNF?

They showed play after play where the ball was out of his hand in under TWO seconds.

Seeing as how we don't run more than 5-10 yard routes, it's shouldn't be that hard for AS to do the same, right?

Being risk adverse is slowing his decision making down, which causes him to panic, which often causes him to run into trouble, though he's ran out of plenty as well.

Found this gem from earlier THIS year.

RAC deserves to keep the job, he's an incredible defensive coach and the team really likes him, they beat Green Bay.

Jim Zorn is a QB guru and can turn anyone into a superstar.

And so on, and so on, and so on.

Fast forward two years, and it's that same coaching staff's fault that this team went 2-14. Couldn't possibly be that the team wasn't as talented as the media or the fanbase thought it was. Amazing the turnaround on this one.

And apparently everyone has forgotten that the media deems us the big "winners of FA" damn near every year, and we've won 29 games in the past 6 years.

We're the greatest dynasty in NFL history at winning the offseason.

Too bad it means jack shit.

I don't see where I mentioned my view. Only that many here believed we had a ton of talent.

I was wrong on the defensive side of the ball. Scheme has really helped these guys. Still a bit concerned about run defense, luckily we don't face many good rushing teams this year.

Probably not the best post to use, considering I was right about everything I said.

The point was that people like you thought that staff was the greatest ever, yet when the team played poorly, they were blamed.

Can't have it both ways.

Can we get one of our PFF members to post the rankings on this? I'm curious. I suspect that Alex is about average to slightly worse than average on his release time...but I'd like to see it.

You just said in this thread that it was the coaching that led us to 2-14. In that thread you were bashing people when they blamed coaching. Like you said, can't have it both ways.

You're missing the point.

In that thread, I was bashing people that were blaming the coaching because they were the SAME PEOPLE who went on and on and on like these Niner fans about how great the coaching was, how RAC was going to make this an elite defense, how Zorn was going to make Cassel a great QB, etc.

Feel free to find posts where I think RAC, Zorn or any of the Pioli cronies were great coaches, or spoke highly of them.

Wrong? About the defense, hell yes. I was definitely wrong.

I predicted the Chiefs to go 7-9 before the season started. The offense has basically been what I expected, if actually a little worse. Alex Smith has played to expectations.

The only thing I thought would happen that hasn't so far is that he'd be less efficient with the ball throwing more often. Some of that is masked by 2-3 dropped INTs. Some of it shows up in a lowered completion percentage.

What was not expected was the Chiefs defense morphing into the best unit in the NFL (so far). Part of that has to deal with improved QB and offensive play and no TOs. A bigger part (I'd argue) of it has to do with improvements by key guys (Poe, Berry, Houston).
