He doesn't understand that concept yet that's why he hates Alex so much.

Well you skipped around some stuff. Alex's numbers are compiled over consecutive seasons.

Cassel's best 2 consecutive seasons combined = 14 wins and 16 losses, either way you go with it.

Not a valid comparison in any way shape or form.

That's not saying much.

Please reference posts where people want the Chiefs to lose.

Correction: We have a great D and a great RB and a meh QB.
I could spend hours going back through and fill pages of hate filled post toward Alex- but that won't change anything. There will always be one more thing to knock him on. I am done with this miserable thread-the negativity is unbearable.

Its valid if you're comparing their 2 best seasons. I never stated they were consecutive nor was that a requisite.

Okay cool. Then let me ask you this. Do you really feel that this offense will stay this way or even get worse as these weeks continue? ( I don't mean an occasional shit-the-bed game where nothing goes right. KC is bound to have a game or two like this. I mean a real slide or stagnation over 3-4 weeks and the wheels just start to come off )

As is, I find it hard to disagree that the offense will need to be better in the playoffs. Such a new team coming together... why wouldn't a fan with any shred of optimism expect that the offense can grow, gel, evolve, etc. into an offense that can better assist the defense in beating playoff teams?

It's comical the lengths people will go to the defend AS.

Sure, let's forget about the countless other incredible seasons and the NINE championships on that list because AS has a better QB rating through 3 games this season.

Dear God, people.
I agree, point being a 3 game sample obviously doesn't determine who or what a player is.

Cassel 2008 and 2010 = 21-11 which is a 52% win rate.

Alex Smith 2011 and 2012 = 19-5-1 which is a 76% win rate.

Since Alex played fewer games in 2012 we can throw in 2013's 3-0 start of you like.

The trend goes back to 2012. Its not just 2013. Kap still has a lower win % than Smith the last 2 years.

One, I'm not sure where you get your stats, he's throwing for 60% so far this season. 3 TDs and 4 INTs.

Second, I'm not sure why you are only mentioning 3 of his 13 starts.

Third, he's throwing 59% with 13 TD and 7 INT over those 13 starts, with 631 yards rushing and 5 rushing TD's.

I don't think any of that equals a 13 PPG game swing.

In the 29 starts we keep referencing for Alex, you know how many times the defense gave up more than 24 points?

Three times.

Know how many times it's happened in Kap's 13 starts?

SEVEN.

You're going to blame that on 7 INT's over 13 games?

I know I said playoff caliber, but I'm talking about winning in the 2nd round and beyond. It's been mentioned several times that any quarterback like Cassel can make the playoffs, and even someone like Tebow can win a game. And saying he's good for ~10 wins pretty much implies I'd expect him to make the playoffs.

There are definitely a couple of legit wins there... the Saints playoff game, at the Packers the following year. 13 points, 140 yards and 1td/1int vs Seattle, not so much... etc. No need to break it down, as stats obviously don't matter.

As I've said, again, several times... he'll get his chances to prove himself with this team. You know, the one I follow. But, I've been down this road several times, and I'm not going to act like I don't know what's at the end. If it's something different this time, it'll be a great surprise.

You obviously don't get it. It's simple really, when the other team scores more points you're going to have score more points to win. If the other team scores 17 points you don't need 24 points to win. Ball control and protecting the ball has a lot to do with it and KC fans should know better than anyone how important it is to winning.
