What procedure have you used to remove it?
Also, Chrome uses a different Flash plugin, so there has to be something in common between the two that's central to Flash, like hardware acceleration. |

Yes. Try updating your video card drivers.

The weird thing is that Adobe says the latest version for most platforms, including mine, is 14.0.0.176. According the test on their site, I'm running 15.0.0.144. EDIT: According to a quick Google Search, what I'm running is a beta version, although I'm certain I downloaded it directly from Adobe. |

Using FF or Chrome do you use the add-on Adblock? If so turn it off to see if that helps. Also you may try deleting or creating a new Firefox profile.

As htismaqe suggested you may also try disabling the Flash hardware accleration
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox). To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

We're having a helluva time with this at work. People are complaining that on certain websites, they're unable to right-click or copy/paste, and that's attributable to the way those sites use Flash.
**** Flash.

I just tested several Flash enabled sites using IE on a Windows XP virtual machine. No issues running Flash ActiveX version 14.0.0.176 (current version).
I also tried several Flash enabled sites using Chrome on a Windows 7 machine. No issues running Pepper Flash for Chrome, version 14.0.0.177 (current version). Everything seems to be working fine for me on multiple machines with multiple browsers. |

I wonder if Flash is the reason my driver keeps crashing on my work computer.

I had problems with it even using Chrome. If you use Chrome, you can go to Chrome://plugins and you'll see if you have two instances of Flash installed. Disable the Chrome version and leave the native version intact. That resolved a lot of my conflicts.
