The kid was experimenting and smoked the bad cig. Pretty simple if you ask me.
We have all forgot about Mike. Mike might get upset if Gus goes after a DEA agent, since he was on the force himself. |

IMO....There is no way Walt poisoned a kid......no matter how out of his mind he is. Walt draws up the plays and leaves it to Jesse to carry them out.
Not sure what was going through Gus' mind @ the end ..... but it made for an awesome scene. Best show on TV ..... hands down. |

Wouldn't put it past Walt. I'm hoping for accident, though. That would be great if the endgame was set into motion b/c of a careless accident.

I'm not sure if Walt not answering the phone for Marie, Skylar, or Jesse means that he was off doing something bad (like poisoning Brock), or if the writers just put that in there to make us think that.

And taking a different tack, I don't think Walt at that point has the mental capacity to pull much of anything off. He's holed-up in his apartment scared out of his mind. My final thought would be that, from my perspective, this season (and well the whole series) has at least in part been about things unraveling around Walt, and how impotent he really is or would be as a "crime lord", especially in comparison to Gus, who we finally got some insight into this year. To have him (Walt) turn out to be some kind of Machiavellian criminal genius just seems off to me. Which is why I'm leaning towards/hoping for accidental poisoning, and not Walt putting all his pawns in motion while he twists his moustaches and cackles. Also the mom said everything was fine with Brock and he got sick out of nowhere. If someone poisoned him, I'm sure he would have told his mom that someone approached him or something.

The other thing is that ricin has been established to be a slow acting poison (by the show), so it's not like Gus or Walt could have given it to the kid the night all this went down and then magically he's got flu-like symptoms the next morning. Unless I've misunderstood the way they've set it up.

Wasn't the ricin in the cig in a tiny little vial? I don't think a curious kid could smoke the damn thing long enough to get through that to the actual poison.

Esposito's comments here indicate that Gus didn't know the kid was poisoned before Jesse told him and that it was that clue that kept him from going near his car. That would leave two options left...that Walt did the poisoning or it was an accident. |

One other longshot weird idea is Tyrus, the henchman guy acting on his own. He seems to take everything very personally and actively hate Walt, and dislike Jesse. His reaction at the hospital was over-the-top when Jesse refused to come to work. |
