He still can move. Rewatch the game at Arrowhead, he looked explosive when he was in.

Bell is an idiot. He would have gotten more money signing with the Steelers last year.

Not guaranteed cash. Also, I think that it is pretty clear at this point that there is more going on here besides just the cash.

Besides, he could have signed, gotten his money, and then sat out like Brown did. He’ll never earn that 14 million back.

Makes no sense. Between running and receiving he had over 300 touches in 2016, and about 400 in 2017. Nothing much was going to change there. You're playing to win, not playing to break a guy, especially if you hope to have that guy in the playoffs. Jets will also give him the 400'ish touches between rushing and receiving. They aren't paying him to NOT tote the rock.

Steelers leaked the $70 million figure to the press...to try to pressure Bell to sign. It only had $10 million guaranteed...it was a total dick move by the Steelers. They were planning on running him into the ground then releasing him this year. If he were seriously injured...he would be screwed. He sat out, stayed healthy and got $30+ million GUARANTEED. $30 million > $10 million. Bell did what he had to do...and it payed off. |

Everyone here understands that Bell could've signed the FRANCHISE TAG and played for a GUARANTEED $14.5 million, right? $10 million is the immediate guaranteed portion of the long term contract the Steelers offered. It is NOT the guaranteed amount on the franchise tag that he could've played for. I don't think many are arguing that the long term Steelers contract was the way to go. It was take the franchise tag, play under that, collect the $14.5 million, THEN go into free agency.

Le'Veon Bell got terrible advice and made some terrible decisions.

I really think Bell was wanting to come here. Just think if the Ford deal had happened a day earlier...would have been an even swap money wise.
