By trading Brown, the Steelers will be forced to swallow $21.12 million in dead money against their salary cap, according to a source. It's thought to be the largest dead-money charge in NFL history.

Well Gruden's doing it his way...he's got the keys to the family wagon.
And he's going to have a decade to do it, and in a new stadium before too long. He's going to have a ton of cap room and early draft picks for the next few yrs. It's going to be a long process....and maybe he's in way over his head, but if he hits HR's on his draft picks, in about 5yrs OAK "could be" good. I mean they better be...because trading Mack and Cooper as it stands right now, looks like a stupid move.

more importantly, does this signal that they're going to dump Carr and his salary?

Yeah, the more AFC West teams invest in offense and let their defenses get weaker, the better for KC, IMO.

I'm sure the Raider trolls will be along tomorrow to remind us that they exist and that the Chiefs are in some real trouble now!

The only way this really hurts the Chiefs is we're now going to have to pay more for Hill.

I thought they were cutting salary and stockpiling draft picks.

If you ask me ,Gruden won this deal big time. he got rid of Cooper for a 1st round pick and gained a far better receiver in AB for a 3rd round pick. All we can hope for now is AB getting frustrated with Carrs lob balls.
