Heard from a friend this weekend re: Michael Porter Jr.
He's friends with a member of the staff. They expect Porter to go to an ACC power, likely Duke. So that's great...

There was never a chance of him coming to Mizzou IMO....KA will never land those type of recruits.

It's not that. It's more a reflection of the keeping in state talent in state. Can't win them all but we seem to win none. I'm not taking about the Puryears and Van Leers, I'm talking about the Beals, Tatums, and (Otto) Porters of the world.

And yes, I realize they aren't all Kermit's fault. It's the shitty state of Missouri basketball and Anderson has yet to prove he can recruit in state.

It could be worse, KSU probably won't even fill their roster this year. And their team doc just committed suicide a few weeks ago. RIP

There's also a chance Prison Bitch stops being obsessed with Mizzou.
My buddy played golf with someone inside the coaching circle this weekend. They have already written him off. Considering recent comments about "Recruiting smarter" and not wasting resources on kids they have no chance to get, I expect the Porter Mizzou interest to continually cool as his signing day nears. Only REAL chance at this point would seem to be luring Tony Bennett away from Virginia, and that's not happening.

Recruiting smarter=trying to build a team with "gritty" players who hustle and play smart who are not being recruited by high majors? Aka building a team with role players?

It would be one thing for him to go to K-State, Alabama or Utah over Mizzou, but getting beat by Duke isn't going to ruffle my feathers. We aren't close to that level.. before, during or after the Kim Anderson era.
