lets all be honest with each other real quick

Dayton Moore has done a hell of a job, and is worthy of a multi-year extension.

as a huge baseball fan and a guy who really appreciates good baseball

Alex Gordon is quickly becoming my favorite player like...ever.

and in all honesty, I've never had a Royal be my favorite baseball player. I can't remember the last time we had a true superstar. Greinke? But he was a little tougher to like.

Gordon? Yep. He's my guy.

I agree. My point was we next year we have Vargas, Gutherie, Duffy, and Ventura for sure. Swapping Shields for Hendriks seems like a big step back in the rotation and I'm not sure if you can keep him down another year (being that he is 25 years old already) until Gut's contract is up. If they can trade Gutherie to get some cash to spend elsewhere and have Hendriks take his spot I'd be cool with that. There is starting to appear to be somewhat of a log jam with pitchers coming up. You have Hendriks, Lamb is looking good, hopefullly Zimmer and Finnegan and knocking on the door next year as well.

He should step into the Chen role next year IMO. Be your long inning guy if someone gets in a jam and make a few spot starts for injured guys. Im curious with who they look to replace Shields with. Someone from free agency or one of our prospects? Should be an interesting winter, but I think if we make some serious noise this year Glass may be more open to spending on next years team. Keep winning.

well, when we win the World Series Glass is going to have little motivation to increase the payroll...

so I'm sure we'll replace Shields with an in house option

Maybe. It looks like Chen has a mutual option next year with a 1.25mil buy out.
