I did a year a Respiratory Therapy residency at Children's Mercy. Those docs are some of the best pulmonary pediatric docs on the Planet.
If you have ruled out asthma thats good but Albuterol is helpful with multiple breathing issues. The coughing without narrowing of the airways could be some kind of allergin setting off the cilia in the throat. Albuterol could help that. It won't hurt. It really has no bad side effects. But like others have said, doctors are reluctant to prescribe it. Any questions, you know me in RL. Don't hesitate to ask anything.
