Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Got my Concealed Carry approval today! To the DMV Monday morning so I will be officially legal to carry. (might need to lose a few pounds so some IWB holsters fit a bit better)

link is a vid of me machining out a home made M1 front sight tool remover https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...23808037356915 this is what I will have when done Edit/ its done. Now to pull the sight & then get it red hot with a torch & bend the sight post to the right & get it centered up with the barrel. That should put the rear peep sight back to or close to, Battle-sight Zero. Last edited by LiveSteam; 05-12-2014 at 01:38 AM.. |

You get that baby fixed?
I have a Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x 32mm, choate handguard, buffers, and a nice sling in my midwayusa cart. $125 for all. Scope is $120 but if you spend $150 you get $30 off. Might as well add the additional stuff now and get it for free since I'm going to buy them at some point anyway. |

On a side note I finally got a chance to run some lead through my 45/70 twice last week and what a sweet shooting rifle. The thing really doesn't' have much kick and will drop a grizzly in a heartbeat if need be.

What a great day for some plinking!
Took the Mosin Nagant and SKS, along with my latest acquisitions, a Glock 23 and Browning Hi Power. Both pistols were LEO trade-ins, but they performed beautifully. I was shocked by how much I liked the Hi Power. Cosmetically, it was a bit rough. It has a lot of holster wear, and the Hogue rubber grips are worn out. But the action and trigger pull are smooth, the barrel is nice and shiny with plenty of life left, has minimal recoil due to the steel frame/slide, and its very accurate. I think it might be my new favorite pistol. I need to get a few extra mags, along with some new grips. |

Well I'm thinking about getting a new concealed carry pistol. I have a XDm compact 45, and while it'll be great for when I can have layers on it's a little bulky for summer carry. I'm thinking about selling my Ruger p89 and getting a XDs 45 or a Shield 9mm. I might head to the range this week and try out a few more of the concealed carry guns on the market.

I liked it, just not as much as the Hi Power, or my Glock 19. It functioned perfectly, but the recoil was kind of "snappy." I didn't shoot it a whole lot because I spent most of my time with the 9mm Hi Power. But I've got 500 rounds of .40 on the way, and will spend more time shooting it the next time around.
