To me, and this is only my personal opinion, but Pass rushers are the most vital position outside of QB a football team has. Perhaps I'm biased because I watched the Chiefs, for years, dominate defensively because of a monster rush. I watched Derrick Thomas, via 'kc strip', change entire games on a regular basis.
Now the HOF lets QB's in far more than other positions and I accept that largely because I accept the fact that QB is simply a more important position than others. Perhaps that's a stupid way to view it, but it's how I view it. There are a lot of pass rushers that should be in the HOF, but number one on my list right now is Kevin Greene. Until he's in there, Smith has to wait. |

Yeah, this.
I think there's an outside shot that 15 years from now he'll sneak onto a ballot in a weak year and make it to the finals, and I think it's 50/50 that he'll be a semifinalist at some point. I liked him and he was very good, but I don't think he's quite a Hall of Famer.

He never had very good receivers here IMO, but the rest I agree with entirely.
