Instead of looking for someone opposite style of Jamaal lets look for another Jamaal.

you guys do realize our coach is Andy Reid right
the same guy that got 564 yards out of a 7th round pick RB. Yes that RB had fumbling issues, but that's a 4.9 ypc average from a 7th rounder. Production from a 7th rounder that was just as good if not better than Steven Jackson. that's what you should expect not picking off the scrap heap for the sake of some veteran having a name that was notable in the year 2004 |

Loved what Draughn did for us during a stretch of last year

I agree, but don't bring in someone like Steven Jackson w/ the premise that they need 200 carries. Give Draughn and Gray some solid workloads, and draft another guy if they aren't fit to handle some touches in Reid's eyes.

Reid can literally draft a RB with any of our late round comp picks and it would be better than wasting money and a roster spot on Steven Jackson who has a name that commands he has to play/touch the ball and that is not what we want

I'm not a big fan of Gray or Draughn, but we need somebody that can spell Jamaal quite often. Of course in Reid's offense his #1 RB usually plays a ton of snaps. But I doubt Jamaal can handle playing on 90% of snaps, and be able to last the entire year. We do need somebody. But we don't go through free agency. Take a RB in the draft. It's easy to find productive RB's late in the draft. That's one position that has maximum value because you can get them cheap, and they can do a lot for you.

You can often find great RB's that drop or slip through the cracks. For that reason I always like the idea of keeping the backup RB's young. This way you keep adding and eventually find a guy. You stick with a big name for backup and he is clogging the place up. Have 2 young guys back there behind Charles and you add some youth to your team and save some on the cap. Plus you allow for the chance that the guy turns into something, instead of hoping he has one good year left.

Runningback might be the easiest position to find talent in the NFL.
We don't need Steven Jackson. Re-sign Hillis.
