My old neighbors died out on me Jiggs had the best damn blackberry bushes along his fence line I ever ate. He would give me some and always got a jar of jelly or jam whenever needed. Miss my ex neighbors Joan and Jiggs good folk. You are right sir they do rock. I should have bought that house to save those blackberries. The new owners hired someone to rip them out

I love grapefruit but I almost died from it about a month ago. I take blood pressure med and got on a grapefruit kick having half a fruit with breakfast. no problem there but then I bought a jug of grapefruit juice and had a glass along with it. About the 3rd day I almost passed out while sitting at the table . My chest felt bad and it felt like my heart was actually trying to stop. Checked my blood pressure and it was like 80/40. Googled up med interaction and my BP med is a no no with grapefruit. Almost went to the emergency room but didn't . I knew if I could just stay alive 24 hours I'd be OK. But Damn!!!!

In general, raspberries are favorite. Strawberries, cantaloupe, blackberries and oranges rank up there. Pineapple is good but I generally don't eat it straight. I usually put it in some dessert or something.
I love to take fresh pineapple, cut it up and put it in a blender. For dessert, melt butter and add brown sugar. Add blended pineapple. When really hot, add rum or bourbon and flambé. Pour over ice cream. |

It depends on the season for me, and sometimes just how long it has been since I had a particular fruit. Strawberries that come into season in Denmark in June are tops. I love the pears and peaches on my fruit trees when they are at their best, after the right conditions through the spring and summer. I love a good black diamond Texas watermelon. I like a good Braeburn apple and oddly, since I started chemo, eating apples makes me feel a lot better. I usually have a banana with breakfast everyday. Grapefruit from MacAllen, Texas are divine, but now that I am on Xarelto, I can't even have grapefruit in any form, not even soda. With my cold sensitivity, I can't have cold orange juice (or cold anything without hurting my mouth and throat) so I am craving orange juice badly. I love lemon juice in tea with honey, and lemon and lime juice in marinades.
