He's not the highest paid LT in the league. He'll average $10.5 million over the next six seasons.

The Chiefs have re-signed Hali, Derrick Johnson and Jaye Howard, extended Ware, West, Kelce and Fisher.

I don't think the Chiefs are to blame for Berry's status.

Fisher is a lot more important to the Chiefs, and his ceiling is a lot higher than Berry's at this point.

Berry is done in KC.

Two tackles.

This line, in theory, should be the best offensive line since 2004.

Well, at least we didn't pick Joeckel, so there's that.

That draft class top talent wasn't very good, and while Fisher most likely won't live up the 1.1 pick, he ain't a bust.

Having a quality Oline will improve the performance of a QB like Alex Smith exponentially. Actually it improves the play of all QBs but a guy like Smith, who was destroyed in the early part of his career for turning the ball over, it will be even more helpful.

The more secure Smith feels with his Oline and WRs the more aggressive he will be. An aggressive QB will make our offense much less predictable and more productive.

carrying on with your crying .....

Uhh... what the hell is this? Seriously, is this some kind of joke? Are the Chiefs trolling everyone? Or did their accountants tack on an extra zero to this contract by accident? Because Eric Fisher deserves $4 million guaranteed on his new deal; not $40 million.

I can't even begin to explain this. Fisher has been a mega bust since being the first-overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft. Fisher was awful for two seasons and improved last year enough to be sub par at best. Without seeing the numbers and hearing that the Chiefs extended him for four years, I would've guessed that he received $10 million overall with $4 million in guarantees. And that may have been too much.

This reeks of the Chiefs failing to admit that they made a mistake. It's one thing to make an error. We're all human, after all, and no one's perfect. It gets bad, however, when people start compounding mistakes by failing to concede being wrong in the first place. That's exactly what the Chiefs are doing here, and they're getting slapped with a dreaded Millen grade as a result.
It's just very strange that KC refused to pay Albert yet they literally throw $ at Fisher when he's been average at best.

It's not strange at all if you have a ****ing clue.

Albert was on the downside of his career while Fisher is on the upswing. Letting Albert walk was the right move. Getting a deal done with Fisher now looks like the right move.

This was the right move. May look drastic now, but after Fisher progresses with training and two years of free agent OL contracts become realities, this contract is going to be a steal.
