Football Torrey Smith finalizes his five-year deal with the 49ers

Torrey Smith had already said his goodbyes to Baltimore.

Now he can officially say hello to San Francisco.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN (and PFT has confirmed), Smith has agreed to a five-year deal with the 49ers, which will pay him around $8 million per year.

This gives 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick the deep threat he needs, and now we’ll see if that’s a good thing or not.

It leaves the Ravens looking for more help at receiver, as they’re down to Steve Smith and a bunch of unproven kids, making it fortunate they have the extra draft picks.

Jeez, who would have thought back in 2012 that KC would have a more promising front office, head coach, and QB than the 49'ers?

Could be a terrible move. Krapernick needs jump ball receivers who can mask his inadequacies as a passer. A deep threat like Smith might just bait him into throwing downfield where he'll be intercepted more often.
