Revis is doing the Deon Sanders thing.
The next team he ends up with might win the next SB |

What kind of wizardry would we have to do to sign Maclin and guarantee Revis 15 m a year if I'm reading that correctly. Would we just revoke the tag on Houston?(hypothetically.)

I think we can match all offers due to our cap space in 2016.
It depends how much Revis wants guaranteed in Year 1, however. If he wants that $15m in 2015, we've got no chance. If he's okay with waiting for the guaranteed cash to start flowing in 2016 and beyond, Chiefs are in AS GOOD A POSITION as anyone. |

If he goes back to the Jets, he's dumber than Mav.

For whatever it's worth, Schefter's been on ESPN all day and hasn't once mentioned KC in the same breath as Revis. So his tweet doesn't mean they're now "out". He doesn't seem to have ever thought they were in.

Awe. I'm taken pumpkin. The fact that you can't let go is cute though!

There is like zero chance that he's willing to wait for his money, though, right? I mean, when has any player done that? Rumors all point to Patriots or Jets, with him going back to the Patriots if the $$ is competitive.

No surprise. They COULD do it, but it would cripple them in so many other areas it's too painful to deal with. Like Wilfork, it doesn't mean he can't come back, but we'll see. He was a FA last year too, after the Bucs released him and the Patriots managed to work something out. We'll see what happens.

After making some reasonable assumptions on the McCourty contract, releasing Revis puts the Patriots over $10MM under the cap. Still time to negotiate something with him.
Or money to sign others. Usually need about $5 million at start of league year to deal with unexpected contingencies, etc. EDIT: $10MM, not $15MM, not that you guys care much.

The draft pick cap is adjusted on a team by team basis. I doubt the Patriots', drafting last in each round, will have a cap number that high for the draft picks.
