Only about 10 seconds of tonight's episode intrigued me: Vale seeing Black Beard (I guess he's just a legend/myth in this show? I hope not..) and Anne Bonny/Jack Rackham implying that they should split with Vale (as they did historically).
Being slow as molasses doesn't mean it's "doing it right." All these minor plot threads just seem like smoke an mirrors ultimately being completely pointless without any payoff. The entire season so far can be summed up in one sentence. Just like tonight's episode.. well what ultimately happened? Well.. nothing really, just a setup for next week..

Not to mention half the crew almost died. Think what you want, I'm happy. |

Aaaand both of what you mention here was dismantled in the matter of 5 seconds each in this episode . Like I said, pointless. Seems like it's starting to get rolling though. I hate how slow the Vale/Rackham/Bonny story is going. They get like three scenes per episode and all they manage to do is.. set up for the next one

bump. Second season has been FAR superior all the way through than the first, the writing is much more sharp especially with the addition of the flashbacks. Still feels like both season 2 and 1 would be better suited if they took out half the episodes and did it in the same season though..

Popup blocker highly recommended. You can stream directly from the site if you install the ICE script. Alternatively, try XBMC.

I have gotten through the first two episodes of season 2 so far and they are proving to be much more interesting and the pacing is way better.

The last couple episodes were a bit strange and had some weird turns, but I really enjoyed them. Got pulled in pretty good watching the ending tonight.
No clue where it's headed from here but I'll be looking to catch the next season. |

So I finally caught up with this show. It is damn good. I was concerned Michael Bay would do Michael Bay things, but it has turned into a very good show.
I was telling my buddy that I watch it with that after the first season. I really only cared about Flint and Guthrie somewhat. Now they've managed to do enough character building that everyone that gets screen time I care about. Anyone else still watching? |
