The Twilight saga is a giant piece of shit. Stephanie Meyer's writing is incredibly derivative and shallow. The characters are very thin, even the primary ones. But Weitz drastically improved the source material he had to work with. The movie is much better storytelling than the book it is based upon, and that's because of the screenplay.

Writers change all the time. What concerns me is someone coming in this late to do another pass (since I doubt he's doing a complete rewrite). Hopefully it's nothing. |

They knew he made somewhat quirky, humorous films and suddenly, they change gears, with Adam McKay and Paul Rudd re-writing the entire script? Strange, indeed. |

First teaser of that movie didn't exactly fill me with anticipation, either.

Rumor is that maslany got the lead role in Edwards' spin off.
Release year's confirmed for the rest of the trilogy, too: Force Awakens 2015 Edwards 2016 Episode 8 2017 (Trank spinoff possible 2018) Episode 9 2019 http://www.thewrap.com/disneys-bob-i...-in-2017-2019/ |

Obi Wan is the most under-developed of the main characters in the Star Wars Universe, as is Han Solo. Both, IMO, would benefit from the trilogy treatment. |

Are they going to tap a new actor for Obi Wan? Probably, but would prefer Ewan.
