He's better in my opinion, and its really not close.

Neil doesn't do much for me, although there's no denying he's one of the elite drummers. Still, I find Tool's music much more inspiring than Rush's, and that's no doubt colored my view.

Because what is older is automatically better?

I'm no drum expert, but I know a lot of drummers who would agree with that statement. I know many drummers who think Neil is god and I've heard others call him a 'side show'.
