Smashed finger with wedding ring on!

What do you do? This might help someone else on here if they are ever this stupid.

It has been quite the 14 hours! Our snow is very wet, and clogged the snow blower. Like an idiot, I stuck my hand down there to unclog it and got the two big fingers on my left hand.

Swelled up bad, and couldn't get my wedding ring off.

Tried to John Wayne it this morning with my cutoff tool, but it wouldn't touch it, and the ring was getting so hot my hand was blistering under and around the ring. I was pretty concerned about the damage that tool could do to flesh if I slipped! Tried a dremel tool, air cutoff tool under water, no luck. It was only scratching the surface.

I finally gave up and was worried about losing the digit if the swelling didn't start going down soon.

Mrs. Hemi then told me it was a tungsten carbide ring she had bought since the diamonds were loose on the gold one. Holy crap, no wonder I couldn't cut it!

She googled the removal instructions and relief! It only took a minute to shatter it with vise grips!

Didn't have to spend 5k at ER, priceless!! Just another adventure.
