RunKC Mock (12/10)

Taking most of this from Shun but making it with my changes.

The Chiefs go 9-7 and miss the playoffs.

S Eric Berry won’t return in 2015. We receive half of his salary as he is on the NFL injured non-football related list.

OLB Justin Houston receives a 5 year, $80 million dollar deal ($15 million this year)

The Chiefs re-sign C Rodney Hudson 5 years, $20m ($6m guaranteed and $4 million this year), DE Kevin Vickerson 2 years, $4m($1.5 million this year), S Ron Parker 3 years, $6m ($500k guaranteed and $2 million this year).

OLB Josh Martin is tendered.

Cut/walk:

Donnie Avery
Mike DeVito
Mike McGlynn
Ryan Harris
Joe Mays
Chris Owens
Josh Muaga
Jeff Linkenbach
Frankie Hammond Jr
Chase Daniel
Sean McGrath (retirement)
Tamba Hali

The Chiefs re-sign the following players for minimal deals: S Kurt Coleman, LS Thomas Gafford, WR Jason Avant

10. The Chiefs sign the following free agents:
G Orlando Franklin (DEN) 4 year, $26 million deal
-This team needs a good vet bad and this guy is one of the very few G’s available.
ILB KJ Wright (SEA) 3 year, $16 million deal
-fits everything we need.
WR Denarius Moore (OAK) 3 year $10 million
-Speed receiver who can help instantly

11. Compensatory picks: 3rd, 5th, 5th, 7th

Draft

1. La’El Collins LSU-I don’t see any WR available who can get separation quickly and burn DB’s. Cooper and White are gone. Parker doesn’t fit our system IMO, I’m not willing to take a shot on DBG this early and Strong is just a Bowe type. I want speed.
This draft is filled with very talented OT’s and this guy should be quick fix from day 1. This is going to happen so we might as well embrace it.

2. Antwan Goodley WR Baylor-He’s 6 ft with his shoes on, so he’s tall enough. He’s like a better version of former Baylor WR Terrance Williams. Why? Because he’s just as strong, but he’s got the burst and speed to be a downfield threat. He ran a 4.41 and will likely get that up to at least 4.4 at the combine. Wouldn’t be shocked if he’s gone though.
He’s perfect for he WCO and is what we are desperately missing right now.

3. Ladarius Gunter Miami-6’2” roughly 200 lbs and runs a 4.43. These guys don’t last long and he fits our system perfectly.
3.Comp-Tyler Lockett WR KSU-He has the speed and athleticism to be elite in the slot. He falls this far due to his slim body size and some drops. Steal for us.
4. Tyler Kroft TE Rutgers-Strong TE for his size who engages defenders but is also a solid receiver who can create separation. Perfect TE to pair with what we have while getting stronger year 1.
5. Marcus Hardison DE ASU-6’4” 300 lbs with great hand use, strength and agility. These guys are always needed. Sure Mike Catapano is coming back, but you always want depth.
