I lived in the Pensacola for years. We called it LA (Lower Alabama)

If you are a beach person like me, though, it can be heaven.

BEAUTIFUL stretch of beach from there to Destin.

Easily accessible areas where you are the only one on it for miles. I have banged em' on the beach @ 2pm on a tues with not a soul in sight.

That does not happen down here.

LOL, an engineer who works for me is moving to Destin when he retires next year. He was going to move to the Atlantic side but I got them to take vacations to both Tampa and Destin, and they just bought their place in Destin two months ago.

He'll be fine, but I still think he's nuts. It was close to PC, and from what I remembered, it was about as un-Florida as I ever found.
