Just wondering and trying to learn the game more.

But say you were to spear-head the D going in to Denver.

How would you start off, at least? What approach would give us the best chance, factoring in our soft secondary?

Do you just spread them out and hope that we can stop the run?

Defensive formation, when discussing the 3 or 4 standard fronts, really don't matter. Manning has been beaten by them all, and he's beaten them all.
You need knowledge of the front's weaknesses, talent to run it, and to have coached fundamental football well enough.
Its really that simple.

With DJ out and our horrible secondary there's just no way.

Seattle showed the best way to beat manning was to make his WR's pay for the catch and use tight coverage to make him hold the ball.
