SceneItAll Tournament: Round 2 - Wildcard Heat!

A total of 64 teams received passes into Round 3. We will add five more in our patented new wildcard process.

I will present 11 scenes below. These scenes represent the five scenes that got the highest percent of votes in a losing cause, and also the six scenes that had the smallest margin of loss in their heat. (It's six because I had a two-way tie.)

YOU WILL VOTE FOR FIVE OF THESE SCENES. FIVE. EXACTLY FIVE. YOU CAN VOTE FOR FEWER IF YOU WANT BUT NO MORE THAN FIVE. SO I GUESS IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE EXACTLY FIVE SINCE IT CAN BE LESS. BUT NO MORE THAN FIVE. AM I CLEAR ON THIS?

I voted for three scenes:

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Hulk vs. Loki
End of Shawshank Redemption

This vote will be as fun to watch as a WWF (or WWE for the yutes) Battle Royal.

Yeah, it ended up being a pretty high-quality batch. I'm bummed that my Apollo 13 scene isn't kicking buttocks and taking names, but even so, I can understand people voting for other scenes.

I kind of regret not doing this for Round 1. It's kind of fun to have a big battle. I'm even kind of pondering if I should restructure Round 3 and do something like "Pick your favorite two scenes out of a group of five".

I need more votes for Apollo 13 and The Avengers. They're both within striking distance.

Got 'em in there! Tough choices. Only did 4, saved one for the Jaws/Indianapolis scene. Though it always lives in my DVD cabinet.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

And with the ringing of the ceremonial gong, Round 2 comes to an end. Surviving the sudden death wildcard round, the following scenes will move on to Round 3 as wildcards:

Braveheart
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Apocalypse Now
Field of Dreams
The Avengers
Blazing Saddles

Oh, and I allowed six wildcards instead of five because I'm changing up the structure a little in Round 3. That allowed Blazing Saddles to live. Stay tuned.

I'll sadly bid farewell to my Apollo 13 scene.
