Really? He was all over infomercials in the late 80s early 90s! His company was called Ronco...they made the rotisserie (set it and forget it), the food dehydrator, and the pocket fisherman.

I had the Showtime Rotisserie it was ok but a big roasting hen all tied up barely fit and would burn on outside before the internal temp inside was ready. Not to mention was a big pain to clean. The BBQ with a rotisserie is the only way.

The pocket fisherman I thought sucked. I still use the rotisserie about once a year for a chicken. Just watching it is awesome. May do a small prime on it this winter. But yeah, cleanup sucks.

The thing about the pocket fisherman was I could put it in a drawer in my work truck. Putting a rod and reel wasn't a good look at the office. I did buy a LL Bean backpack rod and reel was nicer, but it turned up missing.

Nadine DiNinno making a name for herself with this hard-hitting story of much human interest. No doubt she too will one day have a thread on ChiefsPlanet.

My dad had the pocket fisherman and we still have our Ronco food dehydrator. I still use it and it works just as well as when we bought it in the 80s.
RIP

If it weren't for Weird Al, I would have no idea who this guy was. But as it is, he's one of the few individual people to ever get a Weird Al song written about him. So RIP.

But wait there's more: Ron's sister, Lisa, sang backup vocals on that song. She's actually sang backup for Weird Al on multiple occasions over the years. |
