Deone Bucannon
NFL trade-deadline candidates:
3. Deone Bucannon, LB, Arizona Cardinals The Cardinals, who have a new head coach, a rookie quarterback and are in clear rebuilding mode, have reportedly begun to ramp up efforts to trade the 26-year-old Deone Bucannon, who has never recorded fewer than 81 tackles in a single season. He also brings quite a bit of versatility as a converted safety, capable of playing the run and dropping into coverage. He’s an ideal fit for a 3-4 system in need of linebackers, and several teams across the league fit that bill. Given the direction Arizona is headed, it probably wouldn’t be too expensive for a team to land Bucannon. He is a LB/S tweener which is something we could use. I don't think he fits in the Arizona system and his poor PFF marks show it. He is in the final year of his contract which is a problem. Depends on how much he wants in a new contract i suppose. |

His name has been on the "list" for weeks. I just don't see it I guess. He'd be a good add but they just drafted DOD to play that same role and he can't get on the field. I get the feeling they just like Terrance Smith a lot.

Sutton loves to fill the middle of the field with Safeties. I figured that Bucannon would be a good fit.

We're not trading for anybody of significance. I think Veach has been pretty transparent and he wants to build through the draft.
