Former Steeler WR Eli Rogers trying out for Chiefs

Per Adam Schefter

He was a decent receiver who had a nice year as a backup when Bryant was suspended in 2016.

Sure. Why not? But better bring a lot of game if he wants to make this roster.

Hell yeah! A reliable slot receiver would be un-****ing-real in this offense. Watkins, Kelce, and Tyreek will stretch the field and we'll have a shitload of stuff underneath.

I don't know how ready he'll be with his leg injury. But who cares if he starts a little late?

Good training camp competition, but I don't even know if he'd make the final roster.

He's got a shot, though.

If he's healthy, he's much better than Conley and DAT. I think Conley is serviceable, but Rogers to me is a big upgrade.

Is he much better than Conley?

What did he do with the Steelers besides make the team as an undrafted free agent? Put up one or two decent games when there were some injuries in 2016. In 2017 all he did was get buried behind Heyward-Bey, Bryant, and Smith-Schuster. You can argue that those guys are a murderer's row of great WRs for what Eli Rogers actually is, but if we're blaming high competition, does that mean Rogers is ACTUALLY that much better than Conley? Hell, is he even better than Demarcus Robinson? Where do you see in his production with the Steelers that he's a "big upgrade" over what we currently have competing for WR3 and WR4?

Don't get me wrong. Bring him aboard if he's healthy. Let's find out. Maybe he IS that really good slot receiver people think he is.

However, thus far, I look at his stats, production, and where he came from, and all I see is an Albert Wilson clone.

We have zero evidence that he's a big upgrade.

Albert Wilson just got 8 million per for 3 years, so if he can give us numbers like that it's well worth it.
