More Mobile Access to Football
The National Football League and Verizon announced today a multi-year partnership in which Verizon's... will stream in-market and national games, including national pre-season, regular season, playoff games, and the Super Bowl nationwide to sports fans -- regardless of mobile network. The partnership kicks off in January 2018 with streaming of the NFL playoffs on Yahoo and Yahoo Sports, in addition to go90 and the NFL mobile app.

Two immediate thoughts:
1. Not sure this helps move the needle for legal streaming of NFL games (Apple TV, Fire Stick, etc.). It appears Verizon may have just set it back by contracting for mobile devices only.

2. Never have to miss another play while on the crapper.

I am not even able to listen to the KCFX feed of the game on my phone. I can do so from my PC but even with wireless headphones I am limited on how far I can wander. If I could pull it up on the phone then I would have much more freedom. But in no way is this going to convince me to sign up with Verizon.

I don't think it's limited to Verizon devices. It's really a Yahoo deal. It's just Verizon owns Yahoo now.

Yahoo streamed some of those early morning London games a few years ago and I seem to remember it being pretty good.

What wasn't mentioned is that it's a 5 year, $2.5 Billion dollar deal.

$500 more per year towards the Salary Cap.
