This defense: Week 13
I want Mahomes to play and all but he's gonna have a lot of pressure to score because this defense isn't gonna give him an ounce of help.
When I look at the defense, I see an ineffective front 7. People can blame Peters, Mitchell all they want but we need to find a way to preassure the quarterback. When we retool this defense, they better prioritize pass rush. If McCown had a man in his face it'd be a lot harder to throw for 334 yards. We need to find somebody opposite of Houston. Houston has underperformed but we're stuck with him now. A better pass rush would immediately improve the defense I'd leave ILB as is. Ragland and KPL need more experience (ILB is a tough position). Be happy they're getting their experience now instead of in a year where it matters As for the secondary, I wouldn't be opposed to trading Peters. Dude walked out on the team, hates tackling, just unprofessional. He isn't playing at 2016 levels either. When I watch this team it sometimes appears that Mitchell is our best corner! Atleast he blankets a receiver. Also seems like Sutton lacks creativity. We may get mad at the offensive play calling, but atleast they try. I remember when we were short handed vs New England in the playoffs and still scored 20 points while controlling TOP. When Sutton is short handed, the team blew a 28 point lead and gives up 45. |

I would agree that the front seven seems to be the bigger problem. One might argue that the scheme prevents them from making big plays, but they haven't even come close to making a big play for weeks now. It's a glaring problem.

If you really want change, we need new leadership at the HC level. Andy Reid will do just enough to win some reg season games and probably get you to the Playoffs, but his teams are generally flawed. He's a nice guy, but **** him and **** his blind loyalty to Bob Sutton.
