Chiefs Spencer Ware can trigger a significant salary escalator against SD

I know it's all relative for these guys and the amount of coin they make, but an extra $600K is nothing to sneeze at, even at Ware's pay level. He's questionable, but my guess is he plays like he's got over a half million bucks on the line, not to mention possible home field and a 1st round bye.

"He has a career high 921 rushing yards this season, which has increased his 2017 base salary from $700,000 to $1.3 million. It will be $1.9 million if Ware can gain 79 yards on the ground against the Chargers in the season finale to reach 1,000 yards."

You do wonder about business decisions affecting the game. I would hope that the team is classy enough to make any decisions for football reasons alone.
