Your family's "strange" traditions
A post in another thread made me think about this. What are your family's traditions - holiday or otherwise - that you think are kinda weird, or at least nontraditional traditions?
I don't really know how or even when it started, but my wife and I have a tradition of eating chain Italian on Christmas Eve. Olive Garden and Carrabba's mostly. Last edited by Fire Me Boy!; 11-18-2016 at 02:19 PM.. |

It's only been OG once that I recall. Carrabba's mostly. I think it started when we were driving to see family and wanted to get an actual meal and get off the road for an hour or so. And the chain Italian was open at dinner time.

my family tradition is driving all over the city on Thanksgiving and Christmas, each day ot the weekend for the most part. non-stop busy, loading up the car, cooking etc.
If Thanksgiving and Christmas were 4th and Inches at the 50yd line, down by 2 with 6 minutes to go.....I'd punt.

Aluminum pole, airing of grievances, feats of strength. But only if I can get out of my shift at H&H.

My mom has a tradition of everyone taking three whole minutes to say what they're thankful for before we eat and I have a tradition of finding ways to not go to her house on Thanksgiving.
I started my own tradition and it involves getting plastered and watching football. |

I need to get a tradition like that.
I wish I could get hypnotized and just zone out until, say, around April.
