The teams in this heat all have 10 to 15 pro bowls at the position, and the Chiefs have 14. They've had two Hall of Famers as starters, which is tied for the highest in the group, and Trent Green quarterbacked one of the best offenses in NFL history for several years. I think they're pretty much right in the thick of this heat.
I really do think that Len Dawson is being extraordinarily discounted here. The guy is a Hall of Famer with two championships (NFL and AFL), two Super Bowl appearances, a Super Bowl MVP award, and he was probably the second-best quarterback of his era after Fran Tarkenton. His only sin is that he did it at the early end of the time frame.
