Is this worth buying?
I have a chance to buy a 3' x 3' framed pictures and cards with the 1999 Hall of Fame class - Brett, Nolan Ryan, Robin Yount and Cepeda. Also going to throw in a framed Stan Musial picture. It was in Steve Carlton's personal collection. $400.
Should I go for it or not. |

Is it worth $400 to you?
It isn't to me but I'm not an auto hunter. |

Gonna agree here. If its just pics. and cards without autos, it would be a neat piece, but not worth much money. But if you really like it, heck why not. Like anything else, it would just depend on what its worth to you

Without legit authentication the value of autographs is pretty questionable.
A nice-looking 3' x 3' piece with a nice frame and matting and nice photos and autos could be reasonable at $400, but its mostly one of those "worth it to you" things if the autos aren't authenticated by a legit company. You said it came through Steve Carlton---is there proof of that? Not sure what that would add, but I guess it is interesting. He's kind of a crackpot, I've read. |

And never go full Inmem and spend $300 on a Derrick Thomas autograph from a company that went out of business by getting caught forging most of their shit.
