Pro Wrestler dies from accident in ring (Video)
From Wrestlinginc.com
[QUOTE]AAA wrestler Pedro Aguayo Ramírez, who wrestles as El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, died early this morning after a mishap in a match with Rey Mysterio at a show in Tijuana, Mexico last night. News reports indicate that El Hijo took the initial move before the 619 in the trachea and experienced whiplash. Video of the entire match and the aftermath is above. The sequence that apparently led to El Hijo's fatal injury begins around the 6:20 mark. El Hijo takes a dropkick from Rey to set up the 619, and then slumps on to the ropes. El Universal reports that Konnan tried to revive Ramírez to no avail. He was later transported to a nearby hospital. Newspaper El-mexicano.com reports that El Hijo died around 1:00 AM local time.http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8sY2drZUrNk Last edited by DaNewGuy; 03-21-2015 at 02:30 PM.. |

Mysterio always was a botch machine. He started that move too close to the guy and then fully extended into his throat.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the guy was dead before Rey did the 619. You can see the other guy (Manik) looking at him to get into better position and then Manik ducks the entire move.

It was a botched hurricanrana. I seen multiple angles of the match.

You don't want to watch. Dude has a severed spine and is lying limp with his neck suspended on one of the ropes. And the other wrestlers are still jostling the ropes and doing handsprings and flips over his body as life leaves it.
I'm not prone to squeamishness, but seeing what was happening knowing the outcome hit the pit of my stomach like an ISIS video. I don't fault the other wrestlers for not knowing the precise situation, but someone should have been trained to spot this and stop all activity. Dude may have survived, only to have additional fatal damage done by subsequent showmanship.

What's ****ed up is that there isn't any kind of major botch that led to this. It just looked like a freak injury. |
