Is Marty-Ball Back in KC?

This season but in particular the last 2 games sure seems to say "yes". I know Reid throws more than Marty, especially on 3rd and short but overall we are running the ball as our focus, sustaining long, long drives and playing shutdown defense.

If you say "No, it isn't back" I can understand but it needs to be back. You look at the Miami, STL & NYJ games then compare them to the Denver & SF games and a little more Marty-Ball probably has us at 6-2 if not 7-1.

Anywho, do you like the identity of this year's team so far?

It's been back since last year. Winning the turnover battle and not beating yourself will win a lot regular season games.

Yeah but I don't think you saw the focus on the running game last year like you are this year. Could just be me not remembering much of last year but it just seems like we are running more and with power.

I don't recall the ratio from last year, but there have been games this year where Andy totally shit the bed and called plays like Manning or Brady was behind center. He's been better as of late though.

They seriously need to put a white board next to his ass and make sure he at no point goes about throwing the ball 55% of the time. He needs a clock management coach and a you are throwing the ball too damn much coach.

Did you watch last year's playoff game? Other than protecting the ball, none of those other things happened.

So true.

Perhaps we get the Marty-Ball that went to the AFCCG one of these times?

Of course it can happen. The playoffs are about which team gets hot at the right time and a handful of plays that go your way more so than the best team winning it all every year.

And last year's super bowl. Let's see.

The Seahawks last year played suffocating defense, rarely gave up the big play, never turned the ball over, converted 3rd downs and played outstanding special teams.

And yes, alex Smith is playing better than Russell Wilson this year, so let's just not go there.

This isn't about the qb. This is about the style.

I'd disagree on Wilson's value over Alex.

However how about the dozen Superbowls before that one?

Well it's a copy cat league, until another way wins isn't it proper to expect that the team that can come closest to replicating that should be at least considered?

Perhaps, but most life long Chief fans have seen this type of team before and the outcomes in the end were always disappointing. As the OP mentions this is MartyBall 2.0. Much like last year it seems we always just get beaten by the team with a QB that can make plays ours can't. I want to believe, but a lifetime of playoff failure with this style has left my skeptical things will be different this time.

When you have Charles, Davis and DAT....playing Martyball is a must.

But Reid will throw on downs that are 2nd or 3rd n short and it just pisses me off to no end when I watch this team.

This team needs to run to set up the pass. Not the other way around.
