Ever been stung multiple times by wasps?
My work over the years in field land surveying I have been stung multiple times by Bumble bees, honeybees, Hornets and Yellow jackets but never by Wasps. Singly by wasps yes never multiple.
Well that ended yesterday. I am furnished a work truck so my personal truck gets used very little. And I'm sure its sat without moveing in driveway for 2 weeks. But yesterday my wife had to pull dbl shift at work, so the family car was not available. So was putting car seats in truck to pick kids at my sister. Its a custom cab so when I opened the rear door and was putting seat in and then i felt it. the first was a burning in my back. Then back my arm and then a finger. they where attacking like mad. As a ran for door I felt back leg then neck. I felt one land on cheek and I swatted it off and smashed with flip flops I was wearing. Finally I was inside and I peels all my cloths off threw in washer and slammed door ran a wash. Then I found the bee sting ointment and applied. Looked around for wasp killer i was out. Also started feel little funny so took some Benadryl that helped. I was thankful was only me out there. I waited little bit and walked out to try find where the nest was. I could see them fly in to crack behind back side door and desided to wait till dusk. They are least active then and I didnt have a car to drive to by wasp spay, so my plan was to hit them with high pressure water blast from hose. Well dusk came and I put on long pants boots and a heavy long sleeved denim shirt and prepared to seek my revenge. I had hose in hand and trained it on the spot i seen them fly in. Some fell out to ground and got the size 12 redwing treatment. When I saw no activity I opened both doors and there it was about a 11/2 to 2" nest on the out side rubber seal around door. I hit it hard with water blast till I knock it off and proceeded to stomp that bitch with my boot. Problem solved. Well I reeled up hose and and then opened door again and one of those red devils flew out at me and buzzed me then went on. Guess he hadn't got to the nest and was trying to figure what was up. I have never been stung by wasps like that I think these were an angry killer wasp strain. Bastards hurt like hell and I had a bee sting kit we all keep in our work trucks in case I started swelling up like a melon head. I think the worst I ever got stung was Yellow Jackets at work and counted like 35 times and my co-worker said his wife counted 100 and took him to ER. What say you what have been your experience with these bastard insects? |

Saw my dad push over a stump with the tractor and it was full of yellow jackets
Sounds like you found some Africanized wasps |

I got stung a few times by wasps at a place I rented once. There was a small shed in the yard for the lawnmower, so I unloaded mine and went to put it in. Opened the door and a hellish swarm came right out at me. I ran like a school girl to the house, but not before they got me plenty of times.
That night I bought some fogging cans, popped the doors open, threw a couple in, and closed the door. Next morning I went out there and opened the doors, I couldn't see dirt on the floor anymore, it was littered with wasps. I found a bunch of rather large nests in the ceiling that I knocked down. Not fun, those buggers hurt like a SOB. |

We mostly have those wasps with the thin waist here and they are solitary and not aggressive.
I did get stung by a bumblebee once and it was not my idea of a good time. |

Playing rap music will disperse WASPs pretty quickly.

Difference is in the USA a Tarantula might as well be a wooly worm. In Australia everything that bites or stings can kill you.
