Chiefsplanet GMs vs. Dorsey's Predecessor
So a few of us have been playing a game for several years now in the casino forum, where we've pitted ourselves in the draft against the Chiefs' GM. In a coincidence, we started playing the same year that Dorsey's predecessor took over the Chiefs, so we have an interesting comparison.
The rules have been strict. We have to complete our draft before training camp starts, and we have to cut our rosters to 53 by game day. We lose free agents as they leave, and we can only add free agents who join the Chiefs. We can accept or reject trades by the Chiefs if they involve players who are on our own roster. So the bottom line is that the draft is our main variable. Three people have been playing for all four years, and I present their rosters below. In the accompanying poll, please report whether you think they have drafted better or worse than Dorsey's predecessor, so they can adjust their self-esteem accordingly. Team A QB Matt Cassel Brady Quinn Ricky Stanzi RB Jamaal Charles Bernard Pierce (Ravens) – 532 yards rushing for the Ravens this year, 4.9 ypc, 1 TD, 47 yards receiving Shaun Draughn Cyrus Gray Nate Eachus FB Peyton Hillis WR Dwayne Bowe Jonathan Baldwin Dexter McCluster David Reed (Ravens) – 5 reception for the Ravens this year Steve Breaston TE Kevin Boss Steve Maneri Julius Thomas (Broncos) – Appeared in 4 games for the Broncos OT Branden Albert Eric Winston Nate Potter (Cardinals) – 6 starts at LT for the Cardinals G Jon Asamoah Kraig Urbik (Bills) – 13 starts for the Bills Ryan Lilja David DeCastro (Steelers) – No game appearances C Matt Tennant (Patriots) – Appeared in 8 games for the Eagles Rodney Hudson K Ryan Succop P Dustin Colquitt FS Kendrick Lewis Abram Elam SS Eric Berry CB Brandon Flowers Alterraun Verner (Titans) – 16 starts, 59 tackles,2 int, 1FF for the Titans Johnny Patrick (Saints) – 1 start and 15 game appearances for the Saints Stanford Routt DeQuan Menzie OLB Justin Houston Tamba Hali Andy Studebaker Justin Cole (Rams) – Appeared in 16 games for the Rams ILB Derrick Johnson Sean Lee (Cowboys) – 6 starts for the Cowboys this year, 36 tackles 1 int, 1 FF Demorrio Williams (Chargers) – 3 starts and 14 game appearances for the Chargers, 34 tackles, 2 int,1 FF Brandon Siler Eric Bakhtiari (free agent) – Appeared in 4 games for the 49ers DE Glenn Dorsey Tyson Jackson Kendall Reyes (Chargers) – 4 starts and 16 appearances for the Chargers, 17 tackles, 5.5 sacks Karl Klug (Titans) – 1 start and 15 game appearances for the Titans, 4 tackles, 3.5 sacks Wallace Gilberry – Appeared in 14 games for the Bengals, 15 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 1FF NT Anthony Toribio Jerrell Powe Alameda Ta'amu (Steelers) – No game appearances Team B QB Mark Sanchez (Jets) – 15 starts for the Jets, 2883 yards, 13 TDs, 18 Ints, 66.9 QB rating Brady Quinn Brock Osweiler (Broncos) – Appeared in 5 games for the Broncos, 12 yards passing Ricky Stanzi RB Jamaal Charles Peyton Hillis Shaun Draughn Nate Eachus WR Dwayne Bowe Jonathan Baldwin Rishard Matthews (Dolphins) – 1 start and 8 appearances for the Dolphins, 11 receptions Dezmon Briscoe (Redskins) – Appeared in 6 games for the Redskins, 2 receptions Steve Breaston B.J. Team C's defense looks like it might be kind of weak with no Berry or Houston, but that offense would be nasty. Charles, CJ Spiller, Bowe and Tony Gonzalez.
Honestly, they get my vote for Russel Wilson alone. |

B's gamble with Burfict is probably their single greatest move. A lot easier to do it when its not your real team than to risk it with a guy with as much baggage as he has. He's been nothing but Aces so far though.

B's defense plus C's offense would be off the hook. A's big guess was DeCastro, who I was in favor of drafting as well. But overall, A looks Pissholee's personal candy wrapper janitor.

Team C winner. Russell Wilson with Charles, Bowe and Gonzalez. Wilson makes team C the best and it's not even close.

Team C would never ever ever happen
3 high picks on QBs in a 4 year span is completely unrealistic and too small of a sample time frame to jump off the wagon of one QB to another it would have went Sanchez and Clausen or Clausen and Wilson but not all 3. There is no evidence of that happening in the NFL ever. |
