Welp...Laid Off Today
joy.
the project I've been working on for the past 2 years is winding down, and the client wanted us to reduce head-count. So, myself and three others were let go today. Damnit!! Though, my boss told me to update my resume and send it to him. he knows a good friend of him who is Director level that is looking for people. I believe him, and don't think he's blowing smoke up my butt. I've either worked with him/for him or been in contact with him over the course of projects since 2002. So, we'll see about that. Another young guy at work, texted me and let me know his dad is a manager at his company so I'll get my resume in his hands as well. I hope I find something soon. My wife took a huge pay-cut last year (around35%) because her job at the time was causing exacerbations with her MS due to stress. hopefully I won't have to dole out handy's behind the 7-11 for cash. |

Technically, that would be taxable income. He likely won't report it and he almost certainly won't receive a 1099 for performing the service, but there is currently no exclusion for income earned from giving handies behind a 7-11.

wireless.
I was a project coordinator. the company I worked for was a partner with Sprint/Ericsson/Samsung. Coordinating field teams to insert new routers into BTS cabinets on cell sites; getting new hybrid coax and network vision antennas onto towers. Decommissioning and removal of legacy equipment. Microwave connectivity checks. Fiber insertion and fiber testing. Migrating customer traffic off old 3G equipment, and onto the new NV equipment. Worked with local market managers, construction managers, and Sprint RF. I ran a few markets; Chicago, Pennsylvania (Rochester, Buffalo,) and Wisconsin. Probably coordinated over 2500 sites. once those completed, I worked in tandem with another coordinator to tackle Ohio (Columbus, Cincinatti) I've had probably 5 years in the past as a Project Controller (running the financial health of projects).

no; because I don't have a 4 year degree, I needed 8 years of experience for the PMP; which I probably now have (8 yrs experience in PM etc).
you're right, that definitely helps.
