New home owner
What are some things I need to do with a house? I've always just rented. Any basic maintenance upkeep to save me money in the future?

Oh, cool. I love house hunts. What's the architectural style? What's the floor plan?
On maintenance, I usually just fix stuff when it breaks. But I think a good rule of thumb it to make sure that all water and downspouts drain away from the house.

See what water damages does? Your house already shrunk a bunch.

Check caulking around windows and doors. Moisture is a killer.
Check your foundation yearly for cracks or mold. Change your furnace filter regularly. Call for locates before you dig up the yard for any reason. That's all I have off the top of my head.

A car? Apart, back together. Cut weld build no problem. House shit? I'm frustrated before I start, luckily I have a couple friends who feel the same about cars. Works out perfect. |

When you pay off the house, you notice the property taxes even more.
