Any experience futzing around with POS printer?
I have a cheapo cheapo HP deskjet f2430 that is refusing to output anything, despite going through the motions.
I've run head cleaner numerous times, all the way to deep cleaning. I've replaced both ink cartridges The most I'll get is a stray mark somewhere on the page, never anything close to a coherent print job. It will feed the paper and run the print head over it, all the motions of a competent job, except the result. I'd just junk it except It has a decent scanner [so if I junked it out right, I'd be in the market for a new scanner] It's the printer nearest where I sit to do work at home [my 'good' printer is in another room on the network with the router]. And most importantly, I recently cleaned up my supplies and I have about $150-200 worth of cartridges for it that don't go to anything else I own. Anyone messed around with manually unclogging a print head in junk quality printers? |

take a soft lint free cloth and rub it on the copper portion of the cartridge where the ink dispenses. if there is clutter it could take a few tries. as well, shake the cartridge gently as the ink can 'separate' like oil and water. see how that goes. point being it could be clogged. if no ink of the swipe of cloth, keep swiping till small streams of ink line the cloth

Have you tried beating it with a baseball bat? Sorry, that's about all I have for printers....
