Yes, but not a legit one. Probably, "Swing something - or - other," because of his guaranteed contract. Dude has proven he cant play anywhere on the OL. Is he still listed as the backup Center? If so, there u go. Talk about a jail break if he ever sees the field...

Yeah. He has played every position on the line. He's not anything great, but there is value in that. Besides, his salary is guaranteed this season. Just like they kept Hali when his salary was guaranteed, they'll keep Erving.

One thing I noticed was that Reaser is listed with 3 years NFL experience and is 27. Redmond has 3 years, but is 24. It might be one of those younger is better things. I watched most of the preseason and didn't see a whole lot of difference between the 2.

Ervings cap hit is $1.7 million. We've seen the Chiefs take bigger dead money hits, but they've been trying to use Erving a lo this off-season. They seem committed to him at least for this season.

A $1.7M cap hit for a backup is pretty hard to take, but it's just for this year. We didn't pick up his 5th year option, so maybe we just eat it, keep a development player that's cheaper, and move along.
