I know the trailer makes it seem that it's all about hip-hop and (more...ughhh) N.W.A, but it covers quite a bit more than that, including guys like Springstein, Bono, Reznor and Manson. It gets into all the details of how Interscope came to be and all the drama surrounding the mid-90's war on lyrical content.
Personally, im sick of all the N.W.A coverage because their story has been told ad nauseam, but this documentary found a way to make their NWA sections very interesting and offered some fresh footage and details that i haven't heard/seen before.

I've watched the first three episodes.
It's well done but in my opinion, it's redundant if you've seen Dave Grohl's Sound City and the film, Straight Outta Compton. The one thing the producers haven't shown is the ugly side of David Geffen, which was included in the Eagles documentary. Seeing that weasel Allen Grubman interviewed made me almost puke. |

I really liked it. I turned on my TV after dropping my fiancé off at work at 2 in the morning and caught episode 3. It made me look for episode 4 on demand immediately afterwards.

Caught a couple of episodes at the hotel this last week. Damn good doc. I'll have to DVR it so I can watch it in its entirety.
