Former Chiefs in the NFL

The soon-to-arrive poll includes all known former Chiefs over the age of 30 who are currently on rosters and/or competing for roster spots around the league. Of these, who most surprises you by still being active in the NFL?

My most surprising players are:

1. Eric Winston. I thought he was on his last career legs with the Chiefs, and I was surprised when he got signed with another team. And that was years ago.

2. Erik Walden. This guy was a marginal special teams linebacker for us and got cut, and he's still in the league a decade later. Amazing.

3. Wallace Gilberry. I liked him as a Chief, so it didn't surprise me that he had a good career. But man, the guy's been going forever since he left. I didn't know he was that good.

4. Matt Cassel. I don't know how he was even in the NFL in the first place, so I have to list him here.

Not sure about this season, but yes, i believe was seen on the 9ers roster last season.

Doesn't surprise me that he's still around. I'm more surprised that he hasn't gotten any starting attention. I always thought he was a talented back.

They interviewed him on one of those NFL top 100 shows, and I was shocked. So yeah, he's a good pick for a surprise. I cut my list off at players age 30 and over, so that's why he's not on my list. (He's 29.)

As of right now, Tyson Jackson is currently unemployed.

Glenn Dorsey is surprising simply because 2008 was 9 years ago, and he's never been anything more than painfully average. I remember the Falcons taking Ryan over Dorsey, the next Warren Sapp, and almost destroying my television. What a disappointment.

EDIT: And after a quick google search, Glenn Dorsey is also a free agent. I would be shocked if he plays another down.

I can't believe G Dorsey knees let him walk. That was the knock on him out of college that he has bad knees that's why i was surprised we took him with our #5 overall pick that year.

A big part of being a backup is playing the part. Cassell always played the part, but had no talent. Plus backups QBs live forever.

Cassell still being on a roster somewhere is the equivalent of Ted McGinley still being a working actor.
